About Me

Hello!

My name is Lisa and I’m a baker.   I specialize in vegan and gluten-free baked goods.  I eat mostly vegan but because of my line of work, I prefer to taste test everything I bake (vegan or not).

I’m a baker at Ike and Jane (the best bakery in Athens!) which is located on Prince Avenue.  We serve breakfast and lunch too so you should swing by!

I am obsessed with cake and everything baked!

I currently live in Athens but will be moving to Napa Valley next summer.  I start the baking and patisserie program at the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena this coming August.  I can’t wait to move and finally start culinary school!

  1. Just “strolling about” looking for vegan blogs and your name made me giggle. We often get that vaguely alien-ish feelings as well. Luckily, we have some vegan four legged friends to keep us company as well. :) Just stopping by to say hullo! May have to pick up treats for furry spawn for a their birthdays or something!

    • Your username cracks me up too! The fact that I’m a vegan alien is a joke among my friends…and it never gets old. They are convinced I’m an alien because of my dietary restrictions, especially being allergic to wheat! Little do they know I’m actually a cyborg :)

  2. Hello! I found your blog by random, and I am so damn glad I did. I just moved to Athens two months ago after doing the longdistance marathon with my partner. I have been a vegetarian for 4 years, and an off and on vegan for 1. I am allergic to the dairy and am considering a gluten elimination diet to find out if I am sensitive to it as well. I am going to add you to facebook as your recipes are pretty awesome, and I am a fellow foodie! We need to start an athens vegan foodie meetup!

    • Hey! Thanks for adding me on facebook. Sorry it took me this long to get back to your comment, I’ve been slacking on the blog since the semester started. Since you are new here, I hope you try out some of the restaurants I feature, because they are just so good! I’m so pleased Athens has so much delicious vegan food. A vegan foodie meetup would be EXCELLENT! especially if we did potlucks!
